New-age careers are not a thing of this century or that century. Time and again, the world transforms and with it comes a new set of careers as the former ones become obsolete.

2020 saw a dramatic shift across the world and this shift is creating careers that were never heard of or giving a fast impetus to some of the career options that had merely surfaced.

In the times we are in, every profession is rewarding if matched well with the environment. You can be a techie in a mid-sized media company and then you can be a techie in a giant technology-centric entity.

Here are the top five new-age careers that Indian students should explore:

1. Artificial Intelligence Practitioner

  • While Artificial Intelligence is still at a basic step and also a topic of debate, it could be highly fulfilling for students who are interested in subjects like Maths, Statistics, and Computer Science.
  • It is an extension of human intelligence that will funnel robotic assistance, self-driving cars, and similar other activities.
  • Artificial Intelligence is being experimented and deployed only by tech giants.

2. Mental Health Practitioner

  • A Mental Health Practitioner is a health expert who offers counselling to those who undergo mental trauma.
  • While there have always been cases of mental issues, today because of the dependence on technology and lack of physical as well as mental exercise, more and more people suffer from poor mental health.
  • There are several branches to the profession of mental health practitioners, such as psychiatry, meditation, psychology, etc.
  • Students with a high sense of perception and patience will find these jobs an ideal match for them.

3. Risk Manager

  • A highly lucrative career, the role of a Risk Manager is to identify the risks involved in an investment.
  • A Risk Manager guides the client if the client should make an investment or not.
  • Students with an ability to understand numbers and solve problems will find being a Risk Manager fulfilling and could be an independent practitioner or be employed with a finance company.

4. Life Coach

  • Given the fast-paced lifestyle we have established for ourselves and the frequent crises we undergo, managing life seems to have become a tad difficult lately. This is where a Life Coach is pictured.
  • From designing the everyday routine to being the go-to person in the face of adversity, a Life Coach is somebody who has to have high cognitive skills along with an informed mind.
  • Students who take an interest in having a worldview and leading the group match perfectly with the job of a Life Coach.
  • At an emotional level, helping one stride through life could be highly satisfying.

5. Online Events Coordinator

  • With the world shifting online, Online Events Coordinator is what the near future is looking for.
  • A virtual event could demand various activities such as inviting the guests, setting up the device, ensuring there isn’t disruption while the virtual meeting is on and so on and so forth.
  • Students who like engaging with people and have an eye for the details will do well as Online Events Coordinators.
